Illustrated Short Stories is the long awaited seventh album from the Carrivick Sisters: the duo’s first studio album since 2013. The 12 original tracks, carefully crafted and selected over the last few years, feature twins Charlotte and Laura sharing the vocal duties, with their signature sibling harmony and tasteful musicianship across various stringed instruments. The sisters’ American bluegrass and old time influences are clear without hiding their English roots. Many of the songs are inspired or written by Westcountry legends and stories, with each song in the accompanying CD booklet featuring Laura and Charlotte’s illustrations. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Josh Clark at Get Real Audio.
